TRANS COPAGANDA TALK CANCELLED (archived from October 2024

What happened? A trans pinkwashing panel sponsored by violent Victoria Police at the ‘Vic Pride Centre’ for next Thursday, was cancelled this week due to dissent, just as we were going to call a protest.

What happened?

  • Cops were to hold a stage-managed copaganda event to camouflage their damaged relations with trans and gender diverse people because of their violence
  • the ‘sensitive’ panel fell apart as dissent spread
  • Dialogue, and reform of cops, is a dailed strategy, proven over decades, because policing is an inherently violent institution
  • Te outcome of ‘dialogie’ is a trans flag to pinkwash police violence

POlice are violent. We keep us safe.

  • In the white supremacist colony, cops murder Black people at high rates with impunity
  • Cops every day enforce colonial, capitalist, violent hierarchies along race/gender/class/ability/sexuality etc
  • cops repress liberatory protest: from those against the colony for land back, to free Palestine, to trans liberation
  • On MArch 18th last year, cops infanously bashed trans solidarity anti-fascists, while facilitating a nazi transphobe rally. LGBTIQA+liaison cops used their identity to surveil us more.

POLICE ARE VIOLENT. WE KEEP US SAFE.

  • Cops, including trns cops, are all members of the reactionary-fascist police association that defends police murder and impunity.
  • Cops don’t need a pay rise – they break strikes – we need to end state violence, and fight across struggles to abolish cops!
  • Cops are relatively few in number. they rely on hyper-violence, collaboration, snitching, and (particularly white) people deputising themselves as cops.
  • We keep us safe. Grassroos networks defended drag storytime, meanwhille cops emboldened threats
  • We can weaken police power by growing collective self-defence and by not calling the cops. If we build strong communities of care and mutual aid, police become obsolete.
  • It’s no accident that corporate ‘Victorian Pride Centre’ was to again hold a forum pinkwashing violence.

Statement on the murder of two gay men in so-called sydney by cop Beau Lamarre-Condon (archived from February 2024)

Our heartfelt condolences are with Luke and Jesse’s loved ones at this time. We hope they, and all victims of police brutality, find justice.

Yesteday (23/02/2024) Beau Lamarre was charged with the murder of two gay men, Jesse Baird and Luke Davies. Jesse Baird was Lamarre’s former partner. It is alleged that Lamarre used his police firearm to commit the murders.

The killer cop has a history of police brutality and impunity from consequences. He got away with repeatedly tasering Aboriginal man Kris Bradshaw in 2020. extreme violence against intimate partners is a norm amongst cops, not an anomaly. Not only are there systemic barriers to reporting family violence incidents perpetrated by the cops, but research has consistently shown that the number of convictions amongst those cops reported for family violence is alarmingly low.

Furthermore, the prison system is no solution to the root cause of violence.

Cops outta pride. Cops outta communities. Cops outta everywhere. #copskillqueers
